AUDITION LOCATION: Illini Bluffs High School Theatre
(212 N Saylor Street in Glasford)

TO PREPARE: Approximately 1 minute of a musical theater song; bring music for a provided accompanist. Other materials will be provided on site. No appointment necessary to audition – anytime within the 1-4 window. Auditions are open to anyone 16 and up.

If you need to schedule an alternate audition time, please contact Arc Light prior to January 20th.

SHOW DATES: May 18 & 19 @ Coyote Creek Golf Course in Bartonville (Dinner Theater)

Directed by Eric Bell; Music direction by Jeff Driscoll

REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will tentatively be held at Monroe Grade School in Bartonville. Due to director conflicts, we will be following a non-traditional rehearsal schedule. After auditions, we will meet to have a read thru, following by a handful of music rehearsals through February. We will then break in rehearsals and not resume until mid-April.

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box. 9 roles – 5M/4F.
